Maxine Hart was born on the Wirral in 1971 and is now living in Cornwall, after a move from Cheshire in the Autumn of 2008. She lives with her three children and cocker spaniel near the inspirational Helford River. Following an early interest in Art, Maxine continued her foundation studies at Chester Art College and then a BA Honours degree in Fine art at the University of Central England, Birmingham in 1992, specialising in painting. Following her degree she worked as a mural artist; artist in residence in various Cheshire schools; gallery officer at Woodford lodge professional centre, whilst continuing with various art commissions. She has private collections in Europe and America. Maxine is inspired by her surrounding landscapes and seascapes, viewed from her long walks with her dog, sailing, kayaking or rowing on the Helford. The rugged scenes of trees struggling against the extreme weather and incredible light changing the colours , dominate her memory. Photographs are taken and sketch books filled and compositions are fixed into the memory and later transcribed onto canvas....making the work take on its own form and directed purely by the painting process once back in the studio.
